A compact, automatic vacuum packaging apparatus for various purposes. A heating plate (3) having a heating element is provided in a box type casing (2) having a cover (1). Solenoids (4) and receiving members (5, 6) which are moved horizontally by the solenoids (4) are provided on both sides of the heating plate (3) so that all of these parts are separated from one another. A support frame (7) is formed on the lower surface of the cover (1) for the casing (2) so that the lower ends of the support frame (7) contact the receiving members (5, 6). A heat-receiving member (8) is attached to the support frame (7). The cover (1) is put on the casing (2) to engage the lower ends (9, 10) of the support frame (7) with the upper surfaces (11, 12) of the receiving members (5, 6) to form a vacuous space therebetween. The solenoids (4) are then operated to move the receiving members (5, 6) so as to disengage the same from the support frame (7), and the heating plate (3) and the heat-receiving member (8) are brought into contact with each other to effect a heat-sealing operation. |
