PURPOSE:To prevent toner filming on an electrostatically charged image carrier, and clean it sufficiently and form an excellent image many times by coating the surface of the image carrier with a lubricant consisting of setting castor oil. CONSTITUTION:Solid matter of the lubricant W consisting of setting castor oil held on a holding member 11 is brought into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the image carrier 2 while suppressed by a spring 3 to coat the surface with the lubricant W in a thin layer. Consequently, a developer is prevented from sticking on the surface of the image carrier 2, and residual toner is cleaned by sufficiently to form an image many times. |
