The invention is based on a tread belt for track-laying vehicles with a plurality of belts arranged distributed over its width, drivers being attached on the said belts which consist essentially of rubber and have reinforcement inlays arranged in planes one on top of the other. In order to be able to obtain tread belts of this kind with a large degree of longitudinal rigidity, increased flexibility and significant lateral rigidity, according to the invention longitudinal threads which are extended in the belts approximately in the neutral plane and are parallel to one another and are produced on an aramid base are provided. In addition, transverse threads which extend essentially linearly are arranged above and below these threads, the extension of the said transverse threads being substantially greater than that of the longitudinal threads. In this arrangement, the longitudinal threads can also be components of a fabric.
