PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization by arranging a multi-track thin film head while being titled negatively and positively alternately by a prescribed angle to a line orthogonal in the head running direction on a circumferential face divided equally by an even number around the turning center of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A multi-track thin film head having a magnetic gap on a straight line is arranged on a circumferential face divided equally by an even number around the turning center of a cylinder while being titled positively and negatively alternately by a prescribed angle to a line orthogonal to the head running direction. That is, dual gap heads A, B, C, D having a structure of magnetic head are arranged at each position dividing equally the surrounding of the cylinder 5 and have respectively magnetic gaps aa', bb', cc', dd'. Further, the heads A, B, C, D have respectively (+) azimuth, (-) azimuth, (+) azimuth and (-) azimuth. The heads B, D are fitted to the cylinder 5 while the height is deviated by the head track width Tw to that of the heads A, C. |
