摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer material capable of giving printed images with high density and favorable sharpness, by providing a thermally transferrable ink layer in which a heat-fusible material constitutes at least two kinds of domains, and at least one kind thereof comprises polyethylene oxide having a specified number average molecular weight. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material comprises a thermally transferrable ink layer comprising a heat-fusible material on a base. A heat-fusible material constitutes at least two kinds of domains, and at least one kind thereof comprises polyethylene oxide having a number average molecular weight of not less than 1,300. The domain means a region in a heterogeneous system which region can be distinguished from the others by composition, physical properties or the like. A thermal transfer material 1 comprises a thermally transferrable ink layer 3 comprising a heat-fusible material on a sheet form base 2, and the ink layer 3 is constituted of, for example, two kinds (kind A and kind B) of the particles of heat-fusible resins.
