The shaped bodies comprise dried bark in lumps or in pieces and, in certain cases, cellulose waste, these bodies having been formed into previously determined shapes such as spheres, ovoids, cones, pyramids, cubes, ashlars, plates, cylinders, ellipsoids, rods and other regular or irregular geometric shapes, and the said bodies retain their shape as a result of an admixed, quick-drying and water-repelling binder such as polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylate, sodium silicate or water glass, lignin, spent liquor from cellulose production, starch, casein and/or polymer dispersions of vinyl acetate and/or acrylate monomers or mixtures thereof. |
