Improvement to thermometers for medical use allowing the mercury column to be brought to its lowest level by means of the conventional shaking without any risk of the instrument slipping in the fingers by virtue of the presence of a zone provided with several pyramid rings joined at the base. The invention applies to the safe use of thermometers for medical use which cannot slip during the level resetting of their mercury column. <IMAGE>
