PURPOSE:To heat a coating layer uniformly and to prevent the film thickness of the layer from becoming uneven by maintaining the upper end part of a drum at specific temperature when the drum is drawn out of coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:The whole chucking device 1 is inserted into the drum 5 in a perpendicular state, respective presser members 3 are lowered until they face the upper end part of the drum 5, and air is blown into an air tube 4 to expand the air tube 4. Consequently, the presser members 3 move out and the drum 5 is held by the chucking device 1. Then, hot water of 35-55 deg. run in each presser member 3 to raise the temperature of the outer peripheral surface of the presser member 3. In this state, the drum 5 is dipped in the coating liquid in this state and then the chucking device 1 is elevated to draw up the drum 5. Then, the outer peripheral surface of the drum 5 is applied with the coating liquid. At this time,the upper end part of the drum 5 is raised in temperature to the specific value and the upper end of the drum is dried simultaneously with the drawing-up operation of the drum 5, so that here is no liquid run. The layer is therefore prevented from becoming uneven in film thickness. |
