PURPOSE:To increase the density of positive mixture layers containing manganese dioxide as the positive active material by preventing any incorporation of air during dipping by forming said positive mixture layers over the surfaces of a uniformly perforated stainless steel foil the area of whose holes constitutes a specific proportion of the total area. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel foil 43 having holes 42 the area of which constitutes 1-55% of the total area is dipped in a solution of a positive mixture made of manganese dioxide to form positive mixture layers 41 over the surfaces of the foil 43, thereby making a positive mixture sheet for a lithium battery. Therefore, the density of the positive mixture layers 41 can be increased by preventing incorporation of air which might remain in the meshes of a stainless steel net. Besides, manganese dioxide contained in the positive mixture layer 41 not in contact with electrolyte is also made to contribute to electrochemical reaction by connecting the layers 41 with the holes 42. Therefore, a lithium battery with good discharge performance can be obtained by using this positive mixture sheet. |
