ENGINE WITH LONGITUDINAL SHAFT TYPE OVERHEAD VALVE

PURPOSE:To easily manufacture an engine and reduce the manufacturing cost thereof by communicating push rod insertion hole with a rocker arm chamber and also communicating the lower part of the lower push rod insertion hole at the side of a cam shaft, with a crankcase. CONSTITUTION:Push rods 23 and 27 which drive intake and exhaust valves respectively are disposed in the up and down positions and a rocker arm chamber 17 is formed at the head part of an engine. There are formed both push rod insertion holes 15 and 16 which are communicated with the inside of a cylinder head block 10 from the inside of a cylinder block 1. Both push rod insertion holes 15 and 16 are communicated with the rocker arm chamber 17. The level of the lower face of the lower push rod insertion hole 16 is approximately flush with or lower than the lower face of the rocker arm chamber 17. The lower part of the cam shaft 6 of the lower push rod insertion hole 16 is communicated with a crankcase 5. The manufacturing process is thus made easy and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
