摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce load at the time of moving a carriage, enable a high-speed scanning movement and contrive a longer useful life and a maintenance-free mechanism, by using a dynamic-pressure bearing at a carriage bearing part, and providing a lubricant-supplying member at a position to which a carriage is selectively brought on a guide shaft. CONSTITUTION:Under the condition where a head unit 1 is located at a home position, a right end part of a carriage 2 makes contact with the supplying member 5 at the right end, and the dynamic-pressure bearing 25 is supplied with a lubricant. When the unit is moved to a stand-by position for recording, a left side part thereof makes contact with the supplying member 5 on the opposite side, and a lubricant is supplied. The bearing 25 has an inner peripheral surface provided with a plurality of oblique grooves, with the direction of inclination of each of the groove being opposite to that of the adjacent groove. When the carriage 2 is moved in the direction of arrow A, a positive pressure is generated relative to the surface of a guide shaft 3 by the combinations of the grooves 251-252 and 253-254, and when the carriage 2 is moved in the direction of arrow B, a positive pressure is also generated by the combinations of the grooves 252-253 and 254-255. Accordingly, the carriage 2 is moved extremely smoothly under a low load and a small load variations.</p>
