PURPOSE:To perform excellent fixing operation at any time by removing a jam if it occurs and carrying out cleaning operation and oil coating in stand-by mode after power-on operation. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning device 3 equipped with a cleaning web 7 which is extended between a supply and a take-up roller (both not shown in the figure) and fed to the take-up roller side successively, a roller 8 which engages the web 7, a spring 9 which moves the roller 8 back to a chain line position, and a plunger 5 for moving the roller 8 forward and backward and the coil coating device consisting of a plunger 6 for moving forward and backward a felt material 11 impregnated with a separating liquid such as silicon oil are provided at the periphery of a heat roller 1. If a jam occurs, toner that the jamming transfer material carries sticks on the heat roller 1 in an out-of-order state, so the oil is applied by the oil cleaning device 4 as well as cleaning to weaken the coagulation property of the toner, making the cleaning operation more effective. |
