PURPOSE:To exactly discriminate an object by a simple constitution, by obtaining a video signal having the contents which have been brought to an image pickup by gradating an edge part of an object to be photographed, and comparing reference data which as been corrected, based on this video signal, and measured data. CONSTITUTION:A video signal VD corresponding to an image which has gradated an edge part of an image pickup object is obtained by a television camera 1. This video signal VD is applied to a deciding circuit 5 through a sample holding circuit 3 and an A/D converting circuit 4. This deciding circuit 5 compares a measured data which has been obtained from an object to be observed 2, with standard data which has been obtained from a reference object, and outputs a result of discrimination related to the object to be observed 2, based on a comparison output for showing a difference of both of them. |
