摘要 PURPOSE:To connect with an optical fiber in high efficiency by providing condensing means at both incident and emitting ends of a light signal. CONSTITUTION:After a signal light is emitted from the first optical fiber 1, the light is incident to the first semispherical lens 7 formed on a semiconductor substrate 3, condensed to be incident to the first photowaveguide 8, fully reflected on a prism reflecting plate 11, further propagated through a photowaveguide 8 to be incident to a P-type portion of a photoreceptor 4, converted to an electric signal, and a signal voltage is generated across a resistor R2. After the signal voltage is amplified and processed such as waveform- shaped by a signal processor 5, then again converted to a light signal by a semiconductor laser 6, propagated through the second photowaveguide 9, fully reflected on a prism reflecting mirror 11', altered in traveling direction, further propagated, and arrived at the emitting end. The light signal is condensed by the second semispherical lens 10 to be incident to the second optical fiber 2. Thus, the connecting efficiency of a light repeating integrated circuit and the optical fiber is enhanced.
