<p>Indolyl alkyl piperidines of formula (I), in which R1 is 1-3C alkyl and R2 is a piperidyl gp., for pharmacological use as anti-depressants, are prepd. by (a) reaction of indolyl magnesium bromide of formula (II) with a bromo-alkyl piperidine hydrochloride of formula (III) in an inert solvent at ambient temp.; and (b) hydrolysis of the prod., with aq. HCl at 0-10 deg.C.</p> |
