PURPOSE:To accelerate the film-forming speed and at the same time make a drying machine more compact and, in addition, simplify the management of drying process by a method wherein the titled film is conveyed while the side edges of the film are pulled outwards in the width direction by forces not enough large as to cause the film to stretch, in order to dry the titled film during its transportation. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, cellulose triacetate dope is cast through a casting port 3 on a support 4. Secondly, a resultant film 1 is stripped at a stripping part 5. Thirdly, the resultant film 1 runs in a drying chamber 26 in a zigzag form while both the side edges of the film are pulled outwards in the width direction so as to be dried by hot air 6 during the running and taken up. In order to pull the side edges of the film outwards in the width direction, both the side edges of the film must be held. For the holding means, pin clips 7 such as shown in the attached figure are utilized. On the outside of a chain 17 which runs the pin clips 7, a chain 18 is run jointly. The chain 18 and the pin clips 7 are connected with each other through springs 19 so as to properly pull the pin clips 7 by means of the contractile force of the springs 19. |
