PURPOSE:To miniaturize an optical pickup and to reduce the overall thickness of an optical pickup device by providing a pair of triangular driving coils and magnet units generating magnetic fields which cross those coils. CONSTITUTION:The driving coils 13a and 13b of an optical pickup are formed into isoceles triangles having the bases 20a and 20b, and the coil 13b is welded inversely to a lens barrel 6 against the coil 13a. The axial directions of these coils are set in the same direction X-X. Magnets 14a and 14b contain magnets 14a, 14a', 14b and 14b' having their N poles turned toward coils 13a and 13b and magnets 14c and 14c' having their N poles turned toward opposite sides respectively. The magnetic fields generated by magnets 14a and 14a', 14b and 14c, and 14b' and 14c' cross the bases 20a and 20b, isosceles sides 21a and 22a and 21b and 22b respectively. The optional driving force is obtained in both tracking (X-X) and focusing (Z-Z) directions by selecting the current value which is supplied to coils 13a and 13b respectively. This attains the miniaturization of an optical pickup device. |
