MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To obtain a tape-shaped magnetic recording medium having substantial running performance even after the medium is exposed to high-temp. environment by making the dynamic modulus of elasticity at 110 deg.C in the longitudinal direction of the magnetic recording medium larger than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The dynamic modulus of elasticity at 110 deg.C in the longitudinal direction of the magnetic recording medium is made >=4.5X10<10>dyne/cm<2> (preferably >=6.0X10<10>dyne/cm<2>, more preferably >=8.0X10<10>dyne/cm<2>). Any of a method by improving the dynamic modulus of elasticity of a flexible substrate, method by improving the dynamic modulus of elasticity of the magnetic layer or method by improving both is utilized as the method for improving the dynamic modulus of elasticity. A method by selecting binders which little affects the electromagnetic conversion characteristic of the magnetic recording medium is preferably used for practicable use as the method by improving the dynamic modulus of elasticity of the magnetic layer.
