PURPOSE:A gelatinous ointment, consisting of a silicone oil having a specific viscosity and perfluoro organic compound having a specific molecular weight, having high oxygen solvency and remedial action on peripheral ulcer, e.g. decubital ulcer or crural ulcer and useful also as a base for another drug. CONSTITUTION:A gelatinous ointment prepared by incorporating 1pt.wt. silicone oil having preferably 400-500cSt viscosity (at ordinary temperature) with a perfluoro organic compound having 1,200-2,500 molecular weight. The silicone oil is preferably a fluorine-based silicon oil. The perfluoro organic compound is preferably a perfluoropolyether compound. The ointment has high oxygen solvency, improved remedial action on peripheral ulcer and low toxicity and is capable of enhancing the drug effect of another drug, e.g. antimicrobial agent or fibrinolytic agent, by the oxygen supplying ability thereof and useful as a base. |
