PURPOSE:To prolong the working life of a recording head and ensure the high- quality recording over a long period in an ink-jet recording process for recording with ink droplets ejected by the application of thermal energy. CONSTITUTION:Recording is performed with ink droplets formed by the application of thermal energy to an ink. The ink to be used in the above ink-jet recording method contains an aqueous liquid composition containing a water-soluble dye and purified to get an inorganic salt concentration of <=0.2wt.% and a m-phenylenediamine concentration of <=1,000ppm in the composition either by (a) mixing the liquid composition with an adsorbent or an ion exchange resin and filtering the mixture or (b) passing the liquid composition through a column packed with an adsorbent or an ion exchange resin. |
