PURPOSE:To prevent the ignition of a work during cutting and to assure the safety of cutting by forming a stage for supporting the work into a box shape opened at the imposing side and providing a gas ejection nozzle and gas suction pipe thereto. CONSTITUTION:The work W is imposed on the open side of the support 1 and a laser beam processing device 10 is disposed above the work W. Laser light Y is introduced to a head body 11 and is condensed by a processing lens 13 so as to be irradiated from an irradiation nozzle 12 on the cutting part Wa of the work W; at the same time, an assist gas G is supplied from a supply path 14 of the body 11 and is ejected coaxially with the laser light Y from the nozzle 12. The work is thus cut. A resultant product M such as gaseous resin or melt passes through the cut hole Wb and diffused into the support 1 in this stage. The gas Ka is ejected from an ejection nozzle 2 above the support 1 to blow off the product M and at the same time, the gas Kb is ejected from a nozzle 4 to the stagnating gas and the gas KC in the support 1 is sucked through a suction pipe 3 so as to be discharged to the outside. |
