PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a gyro device and to suppress the strength of a piezoelectric element low and increase its detection sensitivity by using a hinge part and the piezoelectric element for detection, and supporting a tuning fork on the connection part of the hinge. CONSTITUTION:When an angular velocity OMEGA is applied around an axis Z-Z, Coriolis forces corresponding to it are generated at both vibrating mass parts 1-1 and 1-1 of the tuning fork 1 in parallel and in the opposite directions. The resulting torque causes hinge parts 30-1 and 30-3 to have bending deformation in an S shape through the coupling part 30-2 of the hinge 30. In this case, piezoelectric elements 31-1 and 31-2 are fixed to the hinge parts 30-1 and 30-3 so that their polarization directions are opposite each other. For the purpose, both piezoelectric elements 31-1 and 31-2 are short-circuited to obtain one output, which is rectified synchronously by a demodulator 7 together with the voltage from a voltage source 5, thereby detecting an input angle OMEGA. |
