PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts and facilitate processing a detection signal, by a method wherein a connector on the printer side where an automatic paper-supplying device is fitted to the printer is used also as a near-end detecting connector on the printer side in combination where a rolled medium holder is mounted. CONSTITUTION:The connector 5b provided on the printer 1 side can function as the near-end detecting connector on the printer 1 side when a near-end detecting connector 6A is connected thereto. Therefore,the connector 5b can be used also as the near-end detecting connector on the printer side. When using the rolled medium holder 3, the automatic paper-supplying device 4 is detached, and the holder 3 is fitted into a predetermined position of the printer 1. Then, the connector 6A on the side of the holder 3 is connected to the connector 5b provided on the printer side. |
