The invention relates to a device replacing the rod which limits the depth of drilling by a rigid tube, of which the mouth, positioned to the side of the tube, and pressed against the material to be drilled by a spring, sucks up the dust whilst acting as a drilling depth limiting device. The device comprises, from upstream to downstream of the flow sucked up by a simple domestic appliance, the removable mouthpiece 1, then the tube 2, into which the tube 3 fits; the movement of the tube 3 is limited by the spring 4, the tube 3 being held by the yoke 5 and the screw 6; the flow sucked up next reaches the hose 7 attached to the tube 3 by the connector 8 then arrives at the suction device via the domestic piece 9, via the connection 10. The spring 4 fixed to the hoop 11 secured to the tube 3 compresses against the hoop 12 secured to the tube 2 at its downstream end; it is preset for a standard drilling depth of approximately 35 mm. <IMAGE>
