A housing (14) contains two intersecting cylindrical chambers (21,22) between an inlet (43) and an outlet (44). Counter rotating shafts (17,18) coaxially arranged in the chambers, carry mutually complementary rotors (27,28), each having a part-cylindrical outer periphery (29,30) successively in sealing contact with the respective inner chamber wall. A smaller dia. periphery portion (38,37) is provided on the other rotor. A bush (35,36) interposed between each rotor and its shaft, is rotatable on the respective shaft, whilst its part-cylindrical outer periphery forms the smaller dia. rotor portion and comes into rolling contact with the outer periphery of the other rotor' ADVANTAGE : Reduced leak flow losses and frictional wear, whilst any flow losses occurring have a min. effect on the control characteristics.
