PURPOSE:To permit the simultaneous production of ingot of plural narrow-width strands by providing plural partition dam blocks which are freely rotatable in synchronization with the belts of an endless track type mold in the position where the section of said mold is divided in the transverse direction. CONSTITUTION:Side dam blocks 7, 8 which are freely rotatable in synchronization with the rotatable upper and lower belts 1, 2 are disposed to both side parts of the belts 1, 2. A pair of the partition dam blocks 9, 10 which are similarly driven in synchronization with the blocks 7, 8 are disposed to the central position in the transverse direction of the space delineated of the blocks 7, 8 is such a continuous casting machine. Such casting machine can produce the broad ingot while the blocks 9, 10 are held removed. The upper and down stream ends of the body 31 of a middle partition dam block guide 30 are respectively fixed to an inlet side guide roll frame 35 and a supporting bracket 36 on the frame of ingot support rolls 23 in the stage of producing the narrow- width ingot. The blocks 9, 10 are so disposed as to rotationally contact with guide roller groups attached on both sides of the body 31, by which the casting mold for the plural narrow-width strands is formed. |
