The alarm device for explosive gases is based on the fact that emerging explosive gases of any type may flow via a spark-proof structure (1), which may, for example, be made of wire fabric, into a testing chamber (2), where they are made to explode using an ignition means, e.g. sparks. The pressure wave can escape through the exhaust aperture (14) via the exhaust pipe (15), which is sealed off by means of a spark-proof structure (17), into a chamber which is not endangered, a sensor (10), which reacts to the explosion, being activated and the alarm being initiated as a result. The spark-proof structure (1) prevents spreading of the explosion in the testing chamber to the outside. The alarm device can be used to detect explosive gases in particular. <IMAGE>
