PURPOSE:To permit uniform cooling, etc. by disposing a pair of orifice plates which can change width to the inside of either one header of water feed and discharge systems. CONSTITUTION:A casting space 5 is formed of a pair of cyclically movable metallic belts and pair of transversely movable side plates 3, 4. Cooling pad bodies 7, 8 are disposed apart at a flow passage space 6 to the rear side of the metallic belts. The orifice plates 9, 10 respectively having through-holes 9a, 10a are freely movably disposed in the pad bodies 7, 8. The orifice plates 9, 10 are moved to prescribed positions by driving devices 13, 14 according to the casting width when the casting width is set by moving the side plates 3, 4. Cooling water is uniformly circulated at the optimum flow rate meeting broad or narrow casting width by the above-mentioned method. The cooling is thus made uniform and the deformation, etc. of the belts are prevented. |
