Hand lever for the parking brake of motor vehicles, especially passenger vehicles

A hand lever for the parking brake of a motor vehicle is described, at the free lever end of which a brake release button is provided, displaceable against the effect of a return force and in its normal position protruding from the face of the lever. In order to prevent the possibility of the brake release button being accidentally operated by a passenger when the hand lever is applied, which is possible if a passenger turns round striking the brake release button with their leg, it is proposed that this button be so arranged that, in its normal position, it is entirely or to a significant extent covered, at least on the passenger side by the wall of the lever end piece.
