PURPOSE:To form a boron compound layer having superior adhesion, hardness and wear resistance on an article of a Ti material by immersing the article in a molten chloride bath contg. fluoride. CONSTITUTION:An immersion bath is prepd. by adding boron oxide and an alloy contg. boron to a molten chloride bath contg. fluoride. The molten chloride bath is composed of one or more kinds of chlorides of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals, and the fluoride of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal is used as the fluoride in the bath. An article of a Ti material to be treated is immersed in the immersion bath for a proper time to form a boron compound layer on the surface of the article. |
