A locking device in a programme control unit for washing and/or drying machines prevents the possibility that, immediately after a spin setting of the programme drum 1, a washing setting with a direction of rotation opposite the spinning direction will be selected manually. To improve the locking device, there is located on one of the drums 1, 4, next to its cam disc 2, 5, a slide 6 which is displaceable tangentially relative to the latter and which is mounted on a rocker 10. In a first displacement position, the slide 6 keeps raised the contact lever 3 or 27 assigned to the respective cam disc. Arranged on the rocker 10 is a blocking device 14 or removement device 15, 34, 18 which bears against the reversing drum 4 and to which recesses 16 provided on the reversing drum 4 are assigned. These release the blocking device from their position retaining the rocker 10 or move the rocker 10, so that the rocker 10 brings the slide 6 into the second displacement position in which the latter releases the contact levers 3 or 27. <IMAGE>
