PURPOSE:To obtain the heat pipe capable of making the thickness of liquid film in the area of heat flux constant by a method wherein a wick is formed on the inner periphery of heating section and is connected to a liquid reservoir, formed at the central part of the heating section, at connecting sections. CONSTITUTION:The wick 3, contacting the inner tube wall of the heating section Y, is connected partially and radially to the liquid reservoir 5 at the central part of the tube and the condensed liquid of heat medium 2 moves to the portions between the wick 3 and the liquid reservoir 5 through the connecting sections 4 by capillarity. When heat transfer is started, the condensed liquid of heat medium 2 is heated by the inner wall of the heating section Y and is boiled for transfer to a cooling section X. When the condensed liquid in the wick 3 is exhausted, the liquid is supplied from the connecting sections 4 by capillarity and the liquid is supplied also from the liquid reservoir 5 to the connecting section 4 in the same manner. When the condensed liquid of heat medium 2 returns from the cooling section X, the supply of the liquid to the wick 3 by capillarity is stopped. When the condensed liquid of heat medium 2 is in surplus, the liquid is sucked up by the liquid reservoir 5 and the connecting sections 4 and held therein whereby the thickness of liquid film is kept constant at the upper and lower parts of the tube. |
