PURPOSE:To apply substantial electric charge of a desired polarity to a developer by forming a control member of a soft elastic material in the part where said member contacts with a developer carrying body and incorporating an amine into a base material of the soft elastic material. CONSTITUTION:The control member 3 of a developing device is provided with the developer carrying body and the control member for forming the thin layer of the developer on the developer carrying body by contacting therewith and applying the electric charge to the developer by frictional electrostatic charge to visualize the electrostatic latent image on the electrostatic latent image carrying body is formed of a leaf spring material 3a and the soft elastic material 3b and is so constituted that the amine is incorporated into the soft elastic material. The frictional electrostatic charge characteristic of the material 3b for the developer 1 is thereby remarkably improved, by which the substantial electric charge is applied to the developer. |
