PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in photographic performances due to long storage, especially, fogging, and lowering of sensitivity due to development inhibition by incorporating a specified magenta coupler in an emulsion, and at least one of specified compounds in a silver halide photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:Fluctuation of photographic performances during long storage, especially, fogging can be prevented without lowering sensitivity due to development inhibition by using the magenta coupler represented by formula [I], embodied by formula 1, usually preferably, in an amount of 1X10<-2>-8X10<-1>mol per mol of silver halide, and a compound represented by formula [II], preferably, embodied by formula (I-1), usually preferably, in an amount of 1X10<-5>-8X10<-3>mol per mol of silver halide. |
