The system maintains constant tension in material unwound from a roll by means of a brake. The system has a comparator in which the reaction force measured by a load cell is compared with a value reducing in proportion to the radius of the roll. The comparator is connected to an adjusting mechanism for the braking torque, so as to keep the latter constant. |
