PURPOSE:To obtain a developer not suffered from scattering of a toner and fog by electrostatically removing a carrier very fine in particle diameter electrostatically attached to the carrier normal in particle diameter together with the toner. CONSTITUTION:When the fine carrier powder of <=10mum particle diameter is electrostatically attached to the normal carrier, the fine powder cannot be separated only with a sieve, resulting in scattering and fogging of the toner. To solve such a problem, it is sieved after it is mixed with the toner to cause triboelectrification, and the carrier smaller than the prescribed particle diameter is separated through the sieve, and the remaining carrier not below it is used in combination with a fresh toner. The adoption of this method permits the fine carrier powder of <=10mum particle diameter to be perfectly removed, and high print quality to be obtained. |
