A mixture which consists of non-esterified C14-C18 fatty acids, monoglycerides which are monoesters of glycerol and C14-C18 fatty acids, lysophosphatidylcholine in which the fatty acid moiety contains 14-18 carbon atoms, and a medicament, can be used for transporting and release orally administerable medicaments. The mixture can likewise be used as a source of readily and rapidly absorbable fat. When it is use in this way, the mixture consists of non-esterified C14-C18 fatty acids, monoglycerides which are monoesters of glycerol and C14- C18 fatty acid, and lysophosphatidylcholine in which the fatty acid moiety contains 14-18 carbon atoms. The mixture can be produced in a variety of ways, with or without using solvents.
