A track-tensioning, spring and shock-absorbing device for track-laying vehicles, in which the tracks run over rollers carried by a frame, over a non-driven guide wheel movable on the frame and a track drive wheel seated on the final drive shaft. The guide wheel is supported on a track-tensioning device on the frame, which consists of a working cylinder filled with an incompressible fluid, especially grease. A spring and shock-absorbing device is provided in sequence with the track-tensioning device, which includes a working cylinder filled with elastomer, the piston of which is immersed in the elastomer with a peripheral clearance. To achieve this and also ensure a short design length and an enhancement in operating reliability the floor of the working cylinder (4) of the spring and shock-absorbing system (2) is formed by the cylinder (3) of the track-tensioning device (1) and the cylinder (3) of the track-tensioning device (1) penetrates into the cylinder (4) of the spring and shock-absorbing device (2).
