The scroll compressor for compressing gas comprises a housing having a discharge port and a suction port. A compressor scroll is located between the discharge and suction ports and includes a stationary scroll having an end plate, a stationary wrap extending vertically to the end plate and a discharge outlet opened at a starting end of the stationary wrap and communicating with the discharge port. An orbiting scroll has an end plate, and an orbiting wrap extends vertically to the end plate of the orbiting scroll. A drive shaft is rotatably attached to the housing. A transmission transmits rotation of a drive shaft which is offset from its axis of the rotation.
