PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shampoo composition excellent in cleaning and conditioning effects, expressing good feeling of foams discharged from a nozzle, hardly clogging in the porous membrane in a foamer container and especially suitable for being used by filling in the foamer container. SOLUTION: This shampoo composition contains the following ingredients (A) to (E); (A) an anionic surfactant, (B) a cationic polymer, (C) one or more of materials selected from nonionic surfactants having <=10 HLB value, semi- polar nonionic surfactants and oils, (D) a monovalent lower alcohol and (E) a polyhydric alcohol. The weight ratio of the ingredient (D) to the ingredient (E), (D)/(E), is 1/6-5/1 and the sum total of the added amount is >=1 wt.%.
