PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate for a hindered amine weather-resistant agent for rubber, etc., economically in improved yield, by reducing and aminating triacetonamine with ammonia and H under specific catalyst, temperature and pressure conditions, using a small amount of ammonia. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by reducing and aminating (A) 1mol of triacetonamine with (B) 1-10mol, preferably 1.5-5mol of ammonia and (C) stoichiometric amount of or excess hydrogen in the presence of a solvent (preferably alcohol) and a cobalt-based catalyst at 70-200 deg.C and <=50kg/cm<2>G, preferably 20-50kg/cm<2>G pressure. The reaction may be carried out either batchwise or continuously. In the case of a batchwise reaction, an autoclave is charged successively with the raw materials, the catalyst, the solvent and finally ammonia, the content is heated at a prescribed temperature, and hydrogen is pressed into the autoclave to a prescribed pressure. |
