CUTTING DEVICE IN ROLL FORMING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device and to execute exact automatic cutting by providing a sensor for detecting the length of a briquette to the top end of a guide cylinder which supports the grass briequette and cooperating the cutting device with the signal of the sensor. CONSTITUTION:The grass supplied to a compressing section 4 is molded to the circular cylindrical briquette by plural compressing rolls 3. The briquette is delivered to one side of the machine body from a guide hole 9 of a bearing plate 8 by the feed effect of the rolls 3 and is supported in the guide cylinder 10. The sensor 11 at the top end of the cylinder 10 detects the length of the briquette when the briquette grows to the prescribed length. A rod 26 and timing clutch 25 interlocked to said sensor operate and a cutter 14 mounted to an oscillation arm 13 cuts the briquette. The cutting device is thereby made compact and the exact automatic cutting is executed.
