PURPOSE:To provide improved photosensitivity, decreased memory, dark attenuation and residual potential and excellent durability by dispersing and incorporating an azo pigment as a carrier generating material into a photosensitive layer and incorporating a secondary amine of the molar number of <=1 times the molar number of a carrier generating material into said layer, thereby forming the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer of a photosensitive body for positive electrostatic charge having the photosensitive layer contg. the carrier generating layer, carrier transfer material and binder resin contains the particular azo pigment as the carrier generating material and contains the secondary amine of the molar number of <=1 times the molar number of the carrier generating material. Since the carrier generating material is incorporated into said layer in the form of grains, the memory phenomenon is lessened nd the residual potential is stabilized. Since the amine is specified to the molar number of <=1 times the molar number of the carrier generating material, the substantial dissolution of the carrier generating material by the amine in the stage of coating and forming the carrier generating layer is obviated and said material can be held dispersd into the coating liquid. As a result, the coating in the dispersed state is made possible, by which the crystallinity of the coating layer is improved, the change of absorption spectra is obviated and the photosensitivity is improved. |
