PURPOSE:To enable a ranging information on the side of a ranging visual field suitable for a main object to be ranged to be automatically selected by providing a ranging visual field changeover switch and a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:Ranging visual field changeover switches 3 and 4 change over between a narrow visual field ranging condition for arithmetically processing signals from a first photosensitive device 5b by an arithmetic processing circuit 12 and at least one of an adjacent visual field ranging condition for arithmetically processing signals from second photosensitive devices 5a and 5c by the circuit 12 and a wide visual field ranging condition for arithmetically processing signals from the first photosensitive device 5b and the second photosensitive devices 5a and 5c by the circuit 12. On the other hand, a microcomputer 13 controls the changeover of the ranging visual field changeover switches 3 and 4 and detects whether or not a ranging information in the narrow visual field ranging condition obtained by the circuit 12 is that for a range larger than a predetermined one. When not larger, said information and, when larger, an information in the wide or adjacent visual field ranging condition are made the result of a ranging. Thus, the ranging information suitable for a main object to be measured can be automatically selected. |
