<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a congestion control apparatus, which reduces congestion processing load in particular at a core router and an edge router and responds to high-speed communication, for a packet communication device. SOLUTION: A congestion control apparatus is equipped with an input data measurement unit, which measures the amount of packets to be inputted, and a packet discarding determination unit, which determines discarding of arrived packets and outputs non-discarding packets to output queues and the input data measurement unit. The input data measurement unit comprises a coefficient unit, which outputs at a predetermined period a constant data amount of packet inputted from the packet discarding determination unit, and smooth queue length computation unit, which accumulates data outputted by the coefficient unit and outputs a constant data amount of the accumulated data at a predetermined period. The packet discarding determination unit performs congestion control by packet discarding determination based on smooth queue length, which is the amount of the accumulated data composed of the difference between input and output data for each predetermined period at the smooth queue length computation unit.</p> |
