PURPOSE:To manufacture the coiled matter from thermoplastic wire with high forming efficiency by a method wherein heated aqueous liquid, containing soluble lubricating oil, is poured on the wire to preheat and provide it with lubricating property in the fore stage of process and the wire is formed by heating it by hot air in the intermediate stage while the wire is cooled in the aft stage. CONSTITUTION:A rotary member 7 is rotated while contacting it slidingly with the inner peripheral surface of a guide member 8 to supply a thermoplastic wire 12 of PET wire or the like to the inside of the guide member. The thermoplastic wire 12 is revolved and moved axially while being formed by winding it around the rotary member, receiving rotating effect, along a spiral guide groove 13 provided on the guide member 7. In the fore stage of forming process, the heated aqueous liquid containing soluble lubricating oil is poured from a nozzle 16 to preheat it and provide it with lubricating property with respect to the rotary member 7 and the guide groove 13. In the intermediate stage of the process, the wire is heated by blowing hot air into the guide member from the nozzle 17 and form it into a requested shape of coil. In the aft stage of the process, water is poured through the nozzle 20 to cool and fix it simultaneously with washing of the soluble lubricating oil. |
