NEW MATERIAL:A quinone compound shown by the formula I (R is H, alkyl or alkoxy). EXAMPLE:A compound shown by the formula II. USE:A coloring material for high polymer, coloring material for liquid crystal, electrophotographic sensitized material for electrophotographic printer or a material for an infrared cutting filter or laser writing liquid crystal display. For example, 0.04wt% of the compound shown by the formula II is added to polystyrene, which is injection molded to give a polystyrene plate colored in blue green. PREPARATION:A compound shown by the formula III (X and Y are H or halo gen) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula IV in a polar solvent such as N,N-dimethylformamide, etc., or a nonpolar solvent preferably in the presence of an acid binder such as KOH, etc., at -50-250 deg.C, preferably -10-150 deg.C to give a compound shown by the formula I. |
