PURPOSE:To eliminate the sticking of toner and paper powder and to prolong the life of a fixing device by forming a porous layer of polytetrafluoroethylene resin (PTFE) around a pressure roller which has a rubber layer provided on its roller core. CONSTITUTION:The rubber layer 11 is provided around the roller core 10 of metal or plastic to form a rubber roller, which is covered with the porous layer 12 of PTFE to obtain the pressure roller. This layer 12 is formed by winding the PTFE porous film in the opposite direction from the rotating direction of the roller or covering the core with the PTFE porous material. Thus, the outermost layer uses the porous PTFE and then toner never enters pores because the toner is several mum in size. The separation of the toner is maintained excellently for a long period. The surface hardness of rubber has a little variation before and after the covering. Therefore, the fixation of the toner to copying paper is improved. |
