PURPOSE:To improve the joining strength by forming a nickel plated layer by removing the oxide film on the surface of a titanium material, then by cladding by rolling the titanium material to a base steel plate at the specified temp. via the nickel plated layer thereof. CONSTITUTION:The thin oxide film on the surface of one side of a titanium material 23 is removed by mechanical grinding or corrosion treatment and a nickel plated layer 22 is formed thereon. The titanium material 23 and a base steel plate 21 are then joined at the interval of the nickel plated layer 22 and the periphery thereof is sealed by welding to the base metal 21 by surrounding it with a carbon steel plate 24. After heating a clad assembly stock 20 at 600-850 deg.C the clad steel is obtd. with the cladding by rolling of the stock 20. The joining of the titanium material 23 and base metal 21 is performed via the nickel plated layer 22 and there is no effect of the titanium oxide film. The joining strength of the clad steel is therefore increased. |
