The sugar beet press has a turning plate (10) with a drive (11) that lifts and lowers it in an annular press chassis between an upper part (1) and a lower part (2) of the press. These parts can be moved together by a hydraulic closure drive (4,5). The plate takes at least one annular filtering strip layer (7) and a lining device places successive layers of the product to be pressed on the filter strip. The upper part of the press has a notch (3) and the lining device and a discharge device (9) are placed in the notch zone.
